Female hair thinning….?

I am a 21 year old female and have started having hair thinning. I had REALLY thick hair until I came to college about 2.5 years ago and over the last year it has thinned out SOO much. I really like my hair and would not like it to be so thin. Why is this happening to me? Baldness doesn’t run in my family at all (neither side).

There are a lot, a lot of causes of thinning hair,one of them being stress as the most common. Then goes lack of some vitamins and minerals in the body. Any infections. Also dieting or unhealthy eating. Women with hormonal imbalances are most likely to have hair loss at some point of their life. And that applies to me.
I had this terrible thing happening to me a couple of years ago after I lost weight, started having irregular periods because of hormonal imbalance. I tried everything and nothing would help. But then I went to a trychologist ( sort of dermatologist but specializing more on hair part) and had some therapy using shampoos, ampules and so on. I also was on birth control, and as soon I stopped or start, I would notice hair loss. So, definitely, I know how stressful it can be.
If nothing works, I would suggest you talk to the doctor.
