It also appears that Saw Palmetto does not cause harm to other aspects of the human body. Finasteride, on the other hand, can have serious side effects especially for women. Pre-menstrual women had never prescribed the drug because of the high likelihood of birth defects. A woman who is pregnant or may become pregnant should not even deal with the drug, as it can be absorbed through the skin.
