Hair Loss Under Arms

My cat has been in heat for 2 months and is beginning to lose excessive amounts of hair, any suggestions?
My cat is around 6 years old. About 1 year ago, she had a litter of kittens. Since February, she has appeared to be in heat. It might have been on and off but seems to be very consistent. Anyways, in the past month or so, she has been losing excessive amounts of hair around her arms and under her belly. Prior to the hair falling out, she had really bad knots (I mean REALLY bad) in these areas. I am not sure if the hair loss is just a process to get the hair out or if it is something to worry about. At this point, the hair in these areas is completely gone. Practically bald. Times are really tough so a vet visit is a last option, so please give as much detail as possible.
THANKS!
Your cat could be suffering some a thyroid disorder and I think what you are interpreting as her being in heat for 2 months is something else entirely.
I realize times are tough, but your last option of visiting the vet is your best option. It’s impossible to treat something when you don’t know what it is.
I would definitely get her to a vet, let them know that you’re a little strapped for funds and go from there. It may be something that can be resolved quickly and cheaply – but definitely get her to the vet.
