Females, Dianette for hair loss – Has this worked for anyone? Whats an alternative?

Hi all – Question for the ladies…

Privately, I was prescribed Dianette for hair loss (General all over loss and thinning) My own GP Had never even heard of using Dianette for Hair loss only excessive Facial/Body hair…

I was wondering if anyone else had tried using this and what their results were?

I am off the pill now as would like to try for a child but is there an alternative tablet or treatment that is anti male hormones?

Any respones would be much appreciated. This is such an awful condition and as a woman its causing me so much distress.

My private doctor suggested Regaine but I am not sure whether to try it as read mixed reviews.

I am late 20s in the UK its thought I started losing hair due to stress in 2007 i am not stressed anymore (Well not to that level!) I have had tests etc and been told i possibly have mild PCOS but have regular periods etc.

Dianette stops my hair from shedding. Another option is Spironolactone which you can take as well as Dianette. It’s a diuretic for blood pressure which has an anti androgen effect (I take them both for acne and they also help with the mild hair shedding I have).

The herb Saw Palmetto has an anti androgen effect. I haven’t tried it but it works for some people. Also, the herb Agnus Castus (Vitex) balances hormone disorders – I tried this and noticed quite an improvement in my skin.
