how much would gene therapy cost?

say in 4-5 years scientists develop a gene therapy to treat hair loss, how much would the therapy cost more or less? would it cost less than hair transplant?

It depends but usually any new technology is going to be a lot of money.

But think about it economically. There is a high demand for products to treat hair loss. Even if it’s not as good, since its a new technology the public is going to perceive it works better, or perhaps want to try it because they’ve tried everything else. So with increased demand, you’d get increased price. And since the company knows this, they are going to maximize their profits and charge a ton so they can make back the money they spent in research. I think at least initially it would cost more than hair transplant, and if it’s any good hair transplantation would probably fade away. If it ended up costing less, it would be far out into the future.
