Hair Loss Female Teenager

hair loss female teenager
do i have a health / hormone problem?

im 15, i have irregular menstrual cycles n i have hair loss since last year. i am hairy too! is this a hormone problem? oh yea n i have terrible mood swings. hah. my friend says she is getting treated because she has more male hormones than female hormones. should i get to the doctor, too? my mum says it’s not too big a deal, because teenagers tend to have irregular cycles n stuff? please help! thanks :)

See your doctor… it could be polycystic ovaries or some other hormonal/endocrine problem. These things are common and there are medications you can try. I wouldn’t wait because there’s no reason to suffer with the symptoms any longer than you have to.

I’d start with a gynecologist and then an endocrinologist. A good endocrinologist can be quite a magician for these sorts of things.

Sorry, but your mum is wrong. The hair issues can definitely point to an endocrine/homone/ problem.
