Sex after Paragard? Is it different?

So, I am 23. My husband and I have 3 children. 3 yr. old girl and 20 mo. old twin boys. We do not want another child until ours are in school. So, I am planning on getting the Paragard IUD inserted tomorrow. Of course, I’ve researched and found the down side to be the painful cramping in the beginning and the possibility of hair loss, but my concern is our sex life. I don’t want my husband to be able to feel the string during sex, and I am fearful of the IUD changing my secretions from what is normal for me. In other words, if it causes dryness, that’s a no go. Our sex life is very important and what’s the point of an IUD, so we can enjoy sex without the concern for pregnancy, if we can’t enjoy sex?? So, if anyone has had any experiences in this department, please fill me in. Thanks!

An IUD will not cause dryness. Why don’t you get some lubricant anyway? They make life so much easier.
