What could be causing hair loss and scabs on my cats back?

Based on my cats back, his hair is thinning and no crusting. It begins at the base of its tail, then runs through the middle of his back. He was also pulling his own hair. All ideas of what could be your patient?

I have some ideas, but you have to take the cat to a vet to see what is really the cause of this problem – 1. Allergies are a common reason why cats over-groom and remove its skin. flea allergy, food allergies, and atopy (allergy to substances in the air) are the three main causes of allergies in cats – 2. Allergies to airborne substances such as pollen or dust can cause itching and consequent excessive hair loss and grooming – 3. Ringworm is a skin fungus that can cause hair loss. This is the infectious skin disease common in cats – 4. Psychological factors like stress, fear, anxiety, nervousness or – must be considered. Cats are very sensitive to their surroundings, and move into a house, plus new or subtraction of new people or animals at home or any unexpected changes in your environment may cause excessive grooming behavior, which leads to hair loss.
